Travel insurance for foreign nationals entering the Republic of Latvia, the Member States of the Schengen Agreement and Switzerland for the purpose of studying or working.
Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia Regulation No. 591 “Regulations on Health Insurance for Foreign Nationals” sets out the cases where, when applying for a short-stay visa or a residence permit, it is necessary to purchase such an insurance policy.
If the customer so wishes, the insurance cover may be supplemented with insurance protection while engaging in sports activities or performing physical work.

Insurance programmes

Programme CIntended for persons applying for a short-stay visa (Category C), with an intended period of stay in the Republic of Latvia, the Member States of the Schengen Agreement or Switzerland of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Programme DIntended for persons applying for a long-stay visa (Category D) or a permanent residence permit, with an intended period of stay in the Republic of Latvia, the Member States of the Schengen Agreement or Switzerland exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period.
